Visit The Eternal Spring – Quito
Quito, capital city of Ecuador, is set high in the mountains with breath-taking scenery. Visitors to Quito will enjoy views of the snow-capped volcanoes, visit the shops and stalls that line the city streets and enjoy a gentle stroll through this small but fascinating city. With a mild climate year round, the city rightly earns the name, the Eternal Spring.
The weather in Quito is very pleasant. The day temperature is around 75 to 85 degrees and the lows at night are around 45 degrees. Remember to carry your jacket when heading out for the nightlife. Quito does have a rainy season, but the sun still usually shines in the morning. Quito has all four seasons every day, because of its temperature variations in one day. This is why it has been nicknamed “Eternal Spring”.
There are so many wonderful activities to do at Quito. It’s such an amazing place with a culture that is rich as much as the people are intoxicating. You can sit outside on the villas and drink coffee, while you relax. You can sit and watch natives go about their day-to-day life and they will smile and say hello.
The Churches and Cathedral are sparkling in the sunlight with their sun-bleached stones. Each and every person must visit the cathedral at least once in his or her lifetime. It is not sufficient with our two eyes to visit the collection of religious art by the famous artist such as, Bernardo Rodriguez and Manuel Samaniego. The sculptures in the walls of the cathedral are decorated throughout the majestic building. Public peoples are allowed to visit the wonderful churches and cathedral.
The snow-capped volcanoes are also a place everyone needs to visit. The native people live at the foot of the mountains. They are still deep in the culture of their ancestors. In one of the villages there is as a monument built in the middle where the equator was thought to be in the early 1980′s. There are many museums to visit in Quito such as, Ecuador National Museum of Medicine.
Many resorts call their home here, but the must interesting is the El Carmelo de Mindo. This resort lies between five rivers, so white water rafting has become very popular here. Bird watchers find this a great place to come and see the variety of birds that call this place home. Horseback riding will give you the fill of open woods and running water. Quito is an amazing place to visit and relax.
